#NotAllExhibitions, 2020

Installation: Digital drawing, acrylic on canvas 80 x 90cm, wood, string

Photography.

#NotAllExhibitions was made to mock the absurdity of patriarchy, with its power status and canons. Taught history and galleries fixate on white male achievements, othering the rest of society, leading to oppression and inequality.

The name Pius, is Latin for holy and worshipped and the style resembles the Baroque period, where most male artist works are canonised. The hashtag name mocks the 'Not all men' response to the MeToo movement.

The guide below contains researched information with a mix of made up history and facts for the piece Jojo made.

Installed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jojo and her parents feature as gallery visitors!
