RIPE Live: Tomato Catchup,
The Alfred Arcade, Southampton, 2021

Tomato Catch-up is a collaborative project that aims to encourage artistic and professional development through a series of skills-sharing workshops and activities. For this second tomato project the Ripe Tomatoes, who exhibited at the Virtual Alfred Arcade last summer, will reconnect and develop both individual and collective outcomes to be exhibited IRL at Old Northam Road in July 2021.

The project is a hybrid of digital and physical exchanges and art-making. Artists will run workshops online, send letters, materials and instructions in the post and create physical artworks that respond to the challenges of remaining connected in these unprecedented times. The work will then be exhibited and a number of the artists will meet, some for the first time ever, in real life.
